liscindy317

On March 8 HB 1149, which updates Indiana’s home-based vendor regulations, was signed into law. Effective July 1st, IC 16-42-5.3 will allow home-based vendors to sell their products:

  • in-person, by telephone, or through the internet; and

  • delivered to the end consumer in-person, by mail, or by a third-party carrier

Home-based vendors will also be required to “obtain a food handler certificate from a certificate issuer that is accredited by the American National Standards Institute” (ANSI), such as the ServSafe Food Handler certificate. For more information about the new code, read this update from Purdue Extension.
